INSTALLING SCAFFOLDING AROUND A TANK OR OTHER CURVED STRUCTURE
When installing scaffolding around a tank or other curved structure, planks or plywood are usually used to make the corner block for filling. The installation method is considerably more time-consuming compared to using the correct installation parts from manufacturers, which are designed to build the corner block faster and safer.
⚠️ Cutting, installing and locking timber compared to factory parts increases the installation time per corner by several minutes.
⚠️ Risk of tripping and increased fire load reduce occupational safety. When using plywood (or similar), it must also be remembered that the material replacing the work platform must be able to withstand the load per square metre indicated on the scaffolding card.
⚠️ Installing toe boards is a problem. The toe boards “leak” when installed from the end of the corner block on top of the planks. In addition, planking easily leaves holes in the platforms, so items can fall down.

Make scaffolding safe; the right parts in the right place, the manufacturer’s parts are primarily used. Only if they cannot be installed should an alternative installation method be used.
