Patera’s founding shareholder, Janne Parantainen, began his career in the Finnish forest industry in the mid-1990s. Working at the core of industry gave him valuable experience of working environments and their special requirements. When his employer’s factory was closed down, it was time to embark on new challenges. At that time, Parantainen decided to become an entrepreneur, and Patera was born – to ensure that no one would get hurt.
The company underwent a significant change in 2015, when the largest construction site of that time was launched in Finland. Patera was involved in ensuring the safety of the project. Soon, Patera’s special expertise and commitment to safety development was noticed in the customer’s safety organisation. At the same time, it was realised that there are still many development needs in ensuring safety, especially in practical site operations.
At the end of 2018, Patera made a strategic decision to focus increasingly on the improvement of occupational safety. The company understood that efficiently improving and ensuring safety requires a wide range of services. These include training, supervision, and other expert services. Improving safety requires that all parties are committed to working together for safety.
To date, our operations and range of services have expanded considerably. Today, Patera offers a comprehensive range of services, ranging from safety supervision and training, to expert services in corporate safety and security, safety management and risk management.
