Kari Helislahti has worked for more than 35 years as a safety and risk management expert in several organisations, including as Posti’s and Finnair’s chief security officer.
The 10-day safety manager and expert coaching programme is organised in cooperation with Keuda Koulutuspalvelut Oy. The coaching programme focuses on good safety management and culture, risk management, and the various aspects of safety. The coaching is industry-independent and suitable for experienced safety managers, new safety experts, and other persons responsible for safety.
The one-day safety management training covers the elements of good safety management and culture, the aspects of overall safety/corporate safety and security, safety requirements, safety responsibilities and tasks, preparedness for serious disruptions, and the assessment and development of the safety level.
The one-day, customer-specific preparedness training covers various external and internal hazards, threats, incidents and crises in the organisation, how to prepare for them, and what crisis management and communication mean in practice. During the coaching, you will also learn about preparedness and contingency planning and the content of the plans.
Comprehensive risk management, business and security risks, and their analysis and management
Risk management training covers various strategic, operational, financial and security risks, how to identify and assess them, and how to manage them. In addition, it reviews how a good risk management culture manifests itself in practice.
Some large clients and developers require contractors and other suppliers working on their construction, installation and annual maintenance sites to have a qualified HSE supervisor with the work group. The one-day basic HSE supervisor training focuses on the HSE supervisor’s role and duties, safety requirements, risks at construction, installation and annual maintenance sites, and safety.

The Government Decree on the Safety of Construction Work (205/2009) requires the developer to appoint a safety coordinator as their representative at the construction site. The requirement also applies to large annual maintenance sites and some installation sites. The focus of the one-day safety coordinator training is on the responsibilities and tasks of all parties involved in construction projects, the safety coordinator’s role, responsibilities and tasks, project risks, safety requirements, the project safety package and its development.

The half-day training for management and supervisors covers the safety responsibilities and tasks of the company’s management, middle management and supervisors, safety requirements, examples of accidents and other situations, and how safety is planned, managed and implemented in practice.
Safety training for the personnel of a care service company is planned and implemented specifically for the company’s management and supervisors, as well as for the entire personnel. The content of the training is built according to the customer’s wishes and can cover the following topics, for example: risks and their management, safety and security management and overall safety, good safety level, statutory and other safety requirements, safety responsibilities and tasks of management and supervisors, and safety planning and plans.
We also plan and implement other tailored, customer-specific safety and risk management training, such as educational institution safety training.
Safety, Risk Management and Quality Expert
Kari has worked in safety and risk management development and management positions at Finnair, Posti, LocalTapiola and Wärtsilä. His responsibilities have included safety and security management, risk management, corporate safety and security, preparedness, and crisis management and communication.
